My Approach
I welcome all types of communication styles, whether you are hesitant to share since you may not know your emotions really well yet or you feel them so intensely and use the F bombs a lot. I am direct and balance empathy with unwavering focus to change to get you to your goals.
I strive to help people understand their emotions, experience their emotions, even the undesirable ones, and have peace with them. Our emotions tell us something. And it is our job to decide what we would like to do with the information. I will help you access your internal wisdom, equip you with tools to regulate feelings and actions, overcome difficulties rooted in the past and actualize the life you envision!
My Experience
Since 2015, I have worked with adolescents, young adults, adults, parents and families in a variety of settings, such as school, psychiatric outpatient clinic, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization programs and private practice. Besides providing clinical services, I have also been in leadership positions where I trained social work graduate interns and pre-independently licensed providers, helped develop treatment programs and increased treatment adherence.
I am a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-Linehan Board of Certification certified clinician. I went through the rigorous certification process to ensure that I possess the knowledge and skills essential for delivering DBT with adherence to the model. I am also a presenter and consultant at Behavioral Tech Institute, the training organization founded by the creator of DBT Dr. Marsha Linehan to expand the use of evidence-based Dialectical Behavior Therapy globally through high-quality training, consultation, and certification support.
